1 Hyperdymium™ motor and suction power

The Dyson V11 Absolute uses the Hyperdymium™ digital motor, which is the main reason behind its high performance. Unlike traditional motors, this motor is designed to spin much faster and operate more efficiently.

It can reach up to 125,000 revolutions per minute (RPM), resulting in strong and consistent suction. In its most powerful setting, Boost mode, the Dyson V11 delivers up to 185 Air Watts (AW). This figure matters because Air Watts represent real suction power—how effectively the vacuum can pick up dust, hair, and dirt, especially from carpets.

To adapt to different cleaning needs, the V11 includes three cleaning modes:

• Boost, for stubborn dirt or deep cleaning.
• Auto / Medium, designed for everyday use and common surfaces.
• Eco, ideal for long cleaning sessions and maximizing battery life.

Thanks to these modes, the vacuum adjusts its power to match the task, achieving a solid balance between performance and runtime—something essential in a cordless vacuum.

2 Cyclonic technology: consistent suction without power loss

The Dyson V11 Absolute uses a 14-cyclone system to separate dust from the airflow. What does this mean in practice? Dirt is captured in the bin and does not go straight to the filter.

This matters because when a filter clogs, suction drops. By separating dust efficiently from the start, the V11 is able to maintain strong suction throughout the entire cleaning session, even when the dust bin is already quite full.

3 Fully sealed filtration system: ideal for allergy sufferers

The V11 Absolute features a fully sealed filtration system, specifically designed for people with allergies or dust sensitivity.

It includes a post-motor HEPA filter, which is washable and reusable, capable of capturing up to 99.97% of microscopic particles, such as fine dust and allergens. This means it doesn’t just pick up visible dirt, but also extremely small particles that would normally remain airborne.

4 Dyson V11 battery: stable power and removable version

The V11 runs on a 7-cell battery designed to deliver consistent power throughout the cleaning session. Unlike many cordless vacuums, suction does not gradually fade as the battery drains—the motor maintains its performance until the end.

Another key point is the evolution of the battery system. Early V11 models came with a fixed, screw-in battery, making replacement inconvenient. Later versions introduced a click-in removable battery system.

Thanks to this design, the battery can be replaced easily or swapped for a second one to extend runtime—especially useful for larger homes or longer cleaning sessions.

5 LCD screen: full control during cleaning

This model includes an LCD screen on the rear, which significantly improves the user experience compared to earlier models like the V10, which relied on LED indicators.

The screen not only shows remaining battery life, but also displays the exact remaining runtime in minutes and seconds, adjusting in real time based on the selected power mode and the tool being used.

In addition, the display acts as an information hub. If the filter isn’t properly installed or there’s a blockage in the airflow, the V11 provides clear visual alerts—no need to check the manual.

6 DLS sensor: automatic power adjustment

The DLS (Dynamic Load Sensor) is one of the Dyson V11’s most advanced features and is built into the High Torque cleaner head.

This sensor detects brush resistance in real time. In simple terms, the vacuum “feels” the type of surface:

• If it detects carpet, it automatically increases power and suction.
• If it detects hard floors, it reduces power to save battery.

All of these adjustments happen automatically when using Auto mode, with no user input required.

One important detail to keep in mind:

• The DLS sensor only works with the High Torque cleaner head and in Auto mode.
• The Soft Roller head (included with the Absolute version) does not feature this sensor. Even so, it performs exceptionally well on hard floors like hardwood, picking up fine dust more effectively and reducing static electricity.
